Welcome! These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") cover your use of myhomefrontharvest.com (the "Site"), and of the free materials and emails we provide through it. "We," "us," and "our" mean Homefront Harvest LLC, a Utah limited liability company. "You" means anyone who uses the Site. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information, and it's part of these Terms.
1. Who the Site is for
The Site is meant for adults: parents, guardians, and educators. The Kid CEO Workbook is designed for children ages 8 to 13 to use with a parent or guardian supervising, but children shouldn't use the Site's forms or contact us themselves. By using the forms, you confirm you're at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live).
2. Our family of ventures
Homefront Harvest LLC is a family business. Besides the Kid CEO Workbook, the Site may describe other family ventures, now or in the future, such as kids' businesses (for example, lawn care or baking) and services run by adult family members. Unless a venture's page says otherwise:
- these Terms apply to that venture's pages on the Site
- each venture's own quotes, orders, or agreements (for example, a lawn-care quote or a bakery order) may come with additional terms we'll share with you at that time
3. Buying our books
Our books, including the Kid CEO Workbook (paperback and Kindle), are sold through Amazon. We don't sell products or take payments on this Site.
- Your purchase, payment, shipping, returns, and refunds are handled by Amazon under Amazon's own terms and policies.
- Prices are set on Amazon and may change. Any prices shown on the Site are for convenience and may not match Amazon's current price. Amazon's price controls.
4. Free materials
We may offer free materials, such as the Kid CEO free sample (sample pages and printable badges), by email. Our materials are made for homeschool families.
- Household use. You may download, print, and photocopy the free materials for use within your own household.
- One teacher, one class. A single teacher may also print and photocopy them for use with their own class of students.
- Please don't
- share, post, sell, or redistribute them, including by uploading them to websites, file-sharing services, or social media groups, or forwarding the download link
- remove our copyright notices
- use them in a co-op, school-wide, multi-class, or paid program, or distribute them, without our written permission
If someone else would like a copy, point them to myhomefrontharvest.com/kid-ceo.
- Broader use. For co-ops, schools, programs, or any distribution beyond the uses above, please contact us at [email protected] for permission.
5. Copyright and our names
Everything on the Site and in our materials belongs to Homefront Harvest LLC or our licensors, and is protected by copyright and other laws. That includes:
- the text and worksheets of the Kid CEO Workbook
- the free sample, the illustrations, the Bramble family characters and their CEO Stories, and the CEO badges
- our logos and the site design
"Homefront Harvest," "Kid CEO Workbook," our logos, and our other names and branding belong to Homefront Harvest LLC. Please don't use them without our permission, including in a way that suggests we endorse or are connected with you or your product.
Photocopying the book's worksheets: if you own a copy of the Kid CEO Workbook, you may photocopy its worksheet pages for use within your own household, and a single teacher who owns a copy may photocopy them for their own class. Co-ops, schools, programs, and anyone wishing to copy pages more broadly should contact us for permission. Otherwise, no part of the book may be reproduced, stored, or shared without our written permission, except for brief quotes in reviews.
Using our name in a review or blog post? Short quotes and a link back are welcome. For anything more, ask us first.
6. Educational content, not professional advice
The Kid CEO Workbook, the free sample, our emails, and the Site teach general business basics for kids. They aren't legal, tax, financial, or accounting advice, and they're not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.
- Permits, licenses, cottage-food rules, health rules, sales tax, income tax, and other requirements vary by state and city. Check your local rules before your child sells anything.
- Homeschool credit suggestions (such as hours and suggested course titles) are general guidance only. Requirements vary by state, district, and umbrella school, so confirm with yours.
7. Parent supervision and safety
Our materials are designed around a parent or guardian acting as the child's "Board Chair." If you use them with a child, you agree that you're responsible for supervising the child's activities, including:
- approving every sale, price, purchase, and customer contact, and holding all money
- handling anything online, and making sure your child doesn't sell to, meet, or talk with strangers without you there
- supervising food preparation, heat, tools, sharp objects, and any other potentially risky activity
- deciding whether an activity or business is appropriate and safe for your child and your situation
You use the materials and carry out any activities at your own risk and discretion. The fictional examples in the book (including the Bramble family's CEO Stories) are made up, for illustration only.
8. No guarantee of results or earnings
We can't promise any particular result. Any examples of sales, prices, or profits in our materials are illustrations only, not a prediction or promise of what your child will earn. Many kid businesses earn little or nothing, and that's okay; the learning is the point. We don't guarantee earnings, business success, or educational outcomes.
9. Things you agree not to do
When you use the Site, please don't:
- break any law, or anyone else's rights
- submit false information, someone else's information without permission, or information about children beyond what a form asks for
- send spam, malware, or anything harmful, or try to interfere with or gain unauthorized access to the Site
- copy, scrape, or redistribute our content or materials, except as these Terms allow
- use the Site to harass anyone or to post unlawful, hateful, or inappropriate content
10. Messages and submissions you send us
When you send us a message, an idea, feedback, or a story about your family's kid business, you confirm it's yours to share and that it doesn't include anyone else's private information without permission.
- Using your submissions. You give us permission to use your submission to respond to you and to improve our materials.
- Sharing your story publicly. We won't publish your name, your children's names, photos, or your story without first asking you and getting your express permission.
- Ideas. If you send us suggestions or ideas, we may use them without obligation to you. Please don't send us anything you consider confidential.
11. Third-party sites and services
The Site links to other sites and services, such as Amazon and social media, and uses service providers (such as our website and email platform). We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.
12. Disclaimers
The Site, our materials, and our emails are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We work hard to keep things accurate and up to date, but we don't guarantee the Site will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- No indirect damages. Homefront Harvest LLC and its members, family members, and service providers aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to the Site, our free materials, our emails, or any activities you or your child undertake based on them.
- General limit. Our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
Some places don't allow certain limits on liability, so some of these limits may not apply to you.
14. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Homefront Harvest LLC and its members and family members from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or activities you or a child in your care undertake, to the extent caused by your failure to supervise or follow applicable law.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, please contact us at [email protected] so we can try to resolve it informally. You agree that any dispute that isn't resolved informally will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Utah County, Utah, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
16. Changes to the Site or these Terms
We may change, pause, or discontinue any part of the Site or our free materials at any time. We may also update these Terms. When we do, we'll post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. If you keep using the Site after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
17. Other legal terms
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a provision right away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later.
- Entire agreement. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Site.
- No assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them as part of a reorganization or a sale of our business.
